Our Collaborators
Nature and Human Health UT was created out of inspiration of a similar group based out of the University of Washington, Nature and Health-Washington. Since, many organizations have followed suite across the country and in 2023, a national alliance was formed to bring these efforts together as a cohesive unit.
Nature and Health-Alliance (NH-ALL), is a new research/practice collaborative group comprised of scholars, educators, practitioners and community members. Our goals are to raise awareness of the value of nature for human health and well-being and to incorporate more nature into the lives of all people.

Nature and Health-Washington
Nature and Health seeks to understand the connections between nature and human health and well-being. We work to translate that understanding into programs, practices, policies, and the design of healthcare, educational, and community settings that benefit all people and nature.
Nature Immersion Science and Practice Collaborative
The Nature Immersion Science and Practice Collective (CNISP) hosts a variety of informal gatherings for individuals (i.e., researchers, practitioners, forest therapy guides, extension specialists) and groups (i.e., nonprofits, businesses) interested in nature and human health. These events occur in a wide variety of settings, and have included facilitated discussions, informal networking events at local breweries, and guest speakers, to name a few. All events are free to attend and open to anyone.
Center for Health and Nature
The mission of the Center for Health & Nature, a collaboration between Houston Methodist, Texan by Nature, and the Texas A&M Health Science Center, is to drive research to study the impact of nature on health with evidence-based programs that complement the full continuum of health care: prevention, treatment, and recovery.
